Here is a delicious milk coffee stout from Escondido, CA-based Stone Brewing Co. This ale pours a rick black from the bottle with a beautiful tan head that settles to a thin tan pool with little to no lacing.
Prepare for a burst of aromas that bring together chocolate, coffee, toffee and roasted grains.
The taste is a great extension of the aroma, providing smokey roast and dark malt taste with good hints of coffee beans and dark chocolate.Underneath the initial taste are hints of vanilla and sugar. This milk stout is not as heavy as many other stouts of this line, making for smooth drinking. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Additionally, while some milk stouts have more residual lactose sugar, Stone opted for a less sweet approach to the category, resulting in a nice, fairly dry finish.
Stone’s Coffee milk Stoup was initially brewed as a limited-edition offering at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens.
