Type in the words beauty and fishing on your next Internet search and it’s very likely that you will come across images of Brooke Thomas. She has graced the pages of several fresh and saltwater fishing publications and calendars and appeared in various fishing related videos. But for this true to heart southern gal, being on the water and fishing are “just part of life.” EZ Angler had a chance to catch up with Brooke, and talk a little shop with her (see interview and video below gallery).
Where do you hail from originally?
Apopka, FL
How long have you been modeling and what type of modeling do you do?
I have been modeling for about 3 yrs. I do mostly commercial and print modeling. I like anything to do with the fishing industry or outdoors.
What’s the best part of your job?
Anything that allows me to be on the water.
How did you get involved in sport and recreation modeling and sponsorship?

There’s always that stereotype that people will compare you to.. you just have to learn to take constructive criticism and ignore any negativity. Staying true to yourself will always take you far.
On your Facebook you commented that some of your followers didn’t think you had the strength to do hardcore, compound bow fishing. Why did you feel compelled to post that and how would you describe your experience bow fishing?
I am a naturally slim girl…Some may look at me and think I’m too weak to draw my bow or reel in 45lb Redfish..but that is not the case. I am working on doing more video based content in the future which will show more than a photo can.
On the water what would be your tool of choice – bow or rod (and why)?
Well that all depends on what kind of fishing I’m doing…Freshwater (Bass) fishing I like all of the Duckett rods..I have several I rotate between. For bowfishing I have a custom yellow Darton Ranger compound bow.
Best or most memorable freshwater catch?
I have so many..but I’d have to say when I caught a 8 pound bass in a random cow pond my boyfriend Rip brought me to..and he didn’t catch anything! (haha)
Favorite bait to use when freshwater fishing?
I only use artificial when bass fishing so..I’d have to say you can’t go wrong with Watermelon Seed worms or any kind of spinner bait.
What’s ahead for you in your modeling career?
I am working on more film based content..so keep an eye out for that! 🙂 and that’s all I am going to say. Stay tuned!
