Talk about innovation in sport and recreation freshwater fishing. The new Power-Pole MICRO Anchor supports everything from kayaks and John Boats to fibgerglass and flat boats. The system is designed on a totally new platform separate from the Blade and original Power-Pole series.
This impressive invention that the guys at JL Marine Systems have come up with has the ability to change the fishing industry as the larger series of hydraulic anchors have done for larger watercrafts. The MICRO Anchor allows boats that weight 1,500 lbs. and under to have the option of a shallow water anchor at an affordable cost.
The MICRO Anchor is so compact that it weighs only 7.5 lbs. and has a very small footprint when mounted on your boat. I found installing the unit to be very simple, basically using three bolts and it offers a variety of ways for mounting. The MICRO Anchor is also easily removed from your watercraft and very easy to store.
The spike that is used as the anchor into the bottom is sold separately from the MICRO Anchor. The reason why is that the way that JL Marine packaged the MICRO Anchor. The unit will accept any ¾” inch spike on the market, so for the those that have spikes already they can use them with the MICRO Anchor.
The unit features force adjustment that is surprisingly strong and gives great sticking power. The MICRO Anchor is managed by an easy to use wireless remote control. The unit can be powered with your boat’s battery or for smaller watercrafts, like kayaks, an additional lithium battery pack that clamps on to the head of the unit can be purchased. The Micro Anchor uses an electric motor instead of hydraulics found in JL Marine’s system larger line of shallow water anchors.
The price point on the product is well priced for its functionality at $595. You can also purchase the Power-Pole MICRO Anchor Spike for $95. The spike is 8.5 feet in length and has a quarter-twenty adapter on the top of the Spike to mount a GO Pro or even a duck decoy.
