Meet EZ Angler Featured Wading Babe Brittany BASSett. A California angler, Brittany is just a natural lover of the water and some good fishing fun! When we first noticed Brittany double fisting two large lunkers with an adoring smile, we knew we wanted to know more about this EZ Angler from the West.
Where do you call home?
I grew up in Lake Elsinore, California. I love it. It is a nice small town and I always camped at the lake with family and friends.
When and how were you introduced to fishing and what is it about the activity you enjoy?
I started fishing at a very young age. My parents were always cool enough to buy me fishing gear when we’d go camping. I don’t know why, but when all the other kids were out playing on sea and running around, I just wanted to go fishing. The feeling of catching a fish is thrilling and gives me sense of independence.
Is there specific technique you enjoy over others when freshwater fishing?
I love a good reaction bite. It’s quick and exciting. You can use all kinds of lures to get a fast reaction from any kind of fish.

I love a good reaction bite. It’s quick and exciting. And I love that you can use all kinds of lures to get a fast reaction from any kind of fish.
What is your favorite species of fish to catch?
I really enjoy largemouth. They’re so powerful and the bigger they are the better the fight.
What is your favorite type of bait/lure when fishing freshwater?
I find myself using jerk baits a lot. The fish hit it with so much power. I love the quick reaction bite I get from the fish. It’s sudden and surprising.
Do you have a favorite rod?
Lately I’ve steered towards Abu Garcia. From spinning rods to baitcaster’s. I’ve never had a problem with any of them. That is by brand of go to rod for sure.
What is your best fishing story?
I was having a bad fishing week and had been told that there was a guy in my area that made and sold underspins (coolbaits). Well, I met up with him and bought five of them. He was so confident that I was gonna start catching bass. So I went to one spot and caught a small bass. Well it was pouring rain that day and I had been out for hours and I was losing faith. I decided to hit up one area that might have bass hanging around so I decided to throw the spin up a tunnel. I began with a slow retrieve and then then boom – a solid huge bass around 8lbs. I was so stoked I took a picture and sent it to him. Of course I did the whole process over and got hooked up again with a 6 lber. Two tanks in a row. That experience just about made my week. The best and most interesting part of the story is the guy I bought the lures from is now my boyfriend : D
Do you have a specific aspiration or goal in mind for your fishing or involvement in fishing ?
I really want to get involved in tournament fishing. I’d like to get my name out there and become a well known female angler. I wanna fish for a living. I love seeing girls out fishing. It’s awesome.
How do you like spending time beyond fishing?
I absolutely love snorkeling. Taking underwater photos of freshwater and salt water fish just amazes me. It is a great experience seeing their environments and habits.
What five words best describe you?
Driven, determined, outdoorsy, committed and honest.
What else would like people to know about you?
My friends think its funny that even though I fish just about everyday, I don’t like eating fish/sea food. I’m not a fan of the fishy taste.
Is catching the fish only half the fun?
Not only is catching fish a great feeling, but the release is great as well. I like watching the fish swim away, knowing its only gonna get bigger for someone else to catch and release after me.
